Overview

Milieu is a six-storey, 125-unit modern apartment rental building situated just off Main Street, in Greystone Village, Ottawa. Regional Group approached Factual to develop a full brand vision for the new rental building - from exterior signage all the way to floor plans, everything was covered.

The final design for the logo mark is an abstract 'M' shape. By changing the perspective, we were able to mimic a hallway or corridor, giving the feeling of an apartment floor. As per our philosophy, we were able to keep the mark simple enough for applications as small as a favicon or a social media profile image, but still memorable and original.

Bold and iconic - something that would draw intrigue and curiosity. Taking inspiration from the building and the idea of structure, we transformed the brand initial (M) into a perspective that feels dynamic, energetic and fun.

Across the many touch points, we played on the interesting isometric angles from the logo, and used them as framing devices or background watermarks.

We were excited to work with Regional Group on this multi-storey rental project, seeing it from initial renderings to tenants moving in. This meant an ongoing partnership providing everything from the initial logo design to final building signage across a number of years.
